BLOODBATH — but in a particularly ugly way for a solo indie. The VC-backed density isn't the primary issue (Any.do ~$35M+ raised, Cozi acquired, Picniic had institutional money, several mental-load apps have seed funding — enough to trip the disqualifier on its own). Where did I soften language? Softened #3 (paid ads) and #5 (team required). For an Iceland-based solo builder with weak organic-GTM muscles going after a US/global consumer iOS audience, #3 is a hard yes. What did I not search for that would have killed this? Did not verify whether Cozi, OurHome, or Fami have or are adding NFC support; any of them announcing it (trivial — it's an iOS API call) would collapse the differentiation overnight.

What am I most uncertain about? The "silent updates to partner without texting" angle is slightly distinct from a chore chart — it's more about visibility/acknowledgment between adults than task assignment. There might be a narrower couples-only "tap to acknowledge, no guilt, no nagging" product that's less crowded. But that's a different product, not this one.
